Use case: "how to save a Telegram chat"

How to save a Telegram chat when copying is disabled

If Telegram no longer lets you copy text, forward messages, or save photos and videos from a personal chat the normal way, forwarding to Saved Messages will not help. SpyGrabs Personal has a dedicated chat export mode for exactly these cases.

What changed after the Telegram update

In personal chats a new situation appeared where the normal path no longer works: text cannot be copied, messages cannot be forwarded, photos and videos cannot be saved the usual way. This is especially painful when the dialog contains agreements, documents, voice messages, important photos, or work files.

So the need is not "a nice export feature" but something much simpler: get your own data out of the personal chat when normal copying no longer helps.

When you need this specific flow

  • You need to save the text of agreements from a personal dialog.
  • You need to quickly grab photos, videos, documents, or voice messages from a chat.
  • You need to export only part of the conversation, not the entire history.
  • You need to find messages by a specific word, phrase, or date range.

If this is a personal chat, go directly to the chat export flow instead of trying to solve it through post links or channel scenarios.

How the chat export mode works in SpyGrabs

  1. Select the chat export mode inside the bot.
  2. Authorize your Telegram account.
  3. Send the @username or ID of the other person.
  4. Choose the period: today, yesterday, this week, or specific dates.
  5. Specify what you need: text, media, documents, or a keyword search.

From the outside it feels like a normal working flow, not manual screenshot-taking or copy-pasting pieces at a time.

What you can choose before the export

  • Period. Today, yesterday, this week, or a custom date range.
  • Content type. Text, photos, videos, voice messages, round videos, documents.
  • Keyword search. Messages containing a specific word or phrase.

This matters because people rarely need the entire chat history. Much more often they need a specific slice: for example only documents from the last week, only photos from the last three days, or only messages with a certain word.

What you get

  • Message text. When you need to record agreements or keep a history.
  • Photos and videos. When normal saving no longer works.
  • Voice messages, round videos, and documents. When attachments matter too.
  • A selective export. Not the whole chat — only the part you actually need.

What to know upfront

SpyGrabs only works with chats that are already accessible to your account. It is not a tool for accessing someone else's conversations and it does not replace your access in Telegram.

The chat export mode is included in Personal. If the task is even larger and you need not one dialog but an entire channel or chat in full, there is a separate Archive Start flow for 1490 RUB.
