How to save files and lessons from Telegram bots

Why saving from bots requires a dedicated flow

Unlike public or private Telegram channels, an interactive bot communicates via a direct, private dialog. Messages sent by a bot do not have shareable web links like t.me/c/.... Furthermore, many bot creators enable content protection (noforwards), preventing you from copying text or forwarding the lessons to your Saved Messages.

Trying to record your screen or take screenshots compromises video quality, strips away PDF documents, and loses text hyperlinks. SpyGrabs solves this through its dedicated Import from another bot mode.

Step-by-step: downloading materials from a bot

  1. Trigger the messages in the source bot: Open your conversation with the target bot and click the necessary buttons (e.g., “Get Lesson 1”, “Download PDF Guide”, or type the command) so the files and texts are actively displayed in your chat.
  2. Open SpyGrabs: Go to @spygrabsplus_bot and select Import from another bot from the menu.
  3. Provide the source bot username: Send the @username of the bot containing your materials.
  4. Authorize session access: If requested, connect your Telegram session via official MTProto login code. This allows SpyGrabs to read your personal conversation with that specific bot.
  5. Receive your files: SpyGrabs extracts the delivered files, video lessons, audio notes, and text, delivering them cleanly back into your Telegram chat.

Handling large multi-lesson programs

If a course consists of dozens of modules released over time, you can trigger each module sequentially in the source bot and let SpyGrabs capture the batch. For exceptionally large dialogues, SpyGrabs processes messages in structured queues to avoid Telegram FloodWait throttling.

Security boundaries & technical guarantees

  • File handling: SpyGrabs requests the file available from Telegram without artificial upscaling. Delivery limits depend on Telegram and the file type.
  • Session control: Session authorization is completely transparent and revokable at any moment under Settings → Devices → Active Sessions in Telegram.
  • Temporary files: Processing files are removed after processing. If a technical failure interrupts cleanup, removal may be delayed.
